Shape of Male

Comb
Rose- square front, tapering to the setting-on of spike, sitting firmly and evenly on head, top level, evenly covered with fine points, free from hollows, with a spike that is round from it's base to it's tip, spike long, firm at base, tapering to a fine point, tilted slightly upward.

Beak
Short, strong, nicely curved.

Face
Fine in texture, free from wrinkles, folds or bristles.

Wattles
Firm, broad, fine in texture, well rounded, free from wrinkles or folds.

Eyes
Bold, conspicuous, full and large in diameter.

Ear Lobes
Prominent, flat, absolutely round with rounded edges, smooth, of uniform thickness all over, kid-like in texture, fitting closely to head, large in comparison to size of bird.

Head
Medium in size, round, carried well back in a proud manner, above a parallel line which when drawn from top of tail will bisect ear lobes.

Neck
Well arched, diminishing in girth toward head, swelling out into a "bull neck" at the base.

Hackle
Falling gracefully and plentifully over shoulders, well down over back, partially covering front of neck.

Back
Moderately short and broad from shoulders to tail, giving a somewhat concave appearance, without any break where back joins tail.

Saddle
Feathers abundant, long: lower saddle filling space between stern and wing tips.

Tail
Main Tail- carried well back at an angle of 40 degrees above horizontal, well expanded but not extending beyond sickles, feathers broad. Sickles- Broad, long, very well curved. Lesser Sickles- Broad, abundant, well curved. Coverts- Abundant, nicely curved.

Wings
Large, carried well back, points carried low concealing back half of thighs, but not the hocks. Carriage of wings has much to do with posture of bird, giving it a decidedly alert appearance, thus accentuated. Shoulders & Fronts- concealed by hackle. Bows- Smooth, well rounded. Coverts- Feathers broad, forming two distinct bars across wings. Primaries- Medium width, strong concealed by secondaries. Secondaries- Medium in length, broad, tapering convexly to stern.

Brest
Full, round, carried well up and forward, extending farther forward than a vertical line drawn down from point of beak; front of neck a bold curve from wing bow to wing bow; from side a symmetrical curve from neck to thighs.

Body & Stern
Body- short but with good depth and width. Stern- Flat, broad and thick (not running off to nothing at set of tail); fluff, short, abundant.

Legs & Toes
Legs- short well set apart, parallel to each other without bowing or knock knees; in profile they should be just about in center of body, directly under the back area. Lower Thighs- Short, stout at top and tapering to hocks. Shanks- Rather short, round smooth, scales neatly overlapping. Spurs- Small, fine, set low. Toes- Four, straight, well and evenly scaled.

Appearance
Proud, alert, graceful, the back showing one continuous sweeping concave curve from neck to tail.
